Tenth Annual Melvin R. Goodes Prize

Tenth Annual Melvin R. Goodes Prize

Join us as we celebrate ten years of the Melvin R. Goodes Prize in Stockholm, Sweden. Each year, this prize honors an innovative scientist who has made a substantial and enduring impact on the Alzheimer's research field.

We are thrilled to present Henrik Zetterberg, MD, PhD with the 2024 Goodes Prize. He is a pioneer in the Alzheimer's space, spending the last 15+ years focusing on the development of biomarkers for Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Zetterberg and his team have developed several new diagnostic tests for Alzheimer’s, which have shown amyloid pathology precedes tau pathology by around five years, changed amyloid homeostasis in the brain is evident in pre-symptomatic stages of the disease, and the value in Alzheimer’s biomarkers in detecting and diagnosing the disease. He has published more than 800 scientific articles and received many notable awards, including the Erik K. Fernström Prize for young scientists and the Inga Sandeborg Prize for research on Alzheimer’s disease.
