The Assistant Director, Special Events will be responsible for the coordination and execution of all the ADDF’s local and national events, from small/mid-size cultivation events to large black-tie galas with society and celebrity personalities.

Volunteers

The ADDF occasionally has a need for a selected few volunteers in our New York City office.  Computer literacy and a minimum commitment of eight hours per month is preferred. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for an undergraduate student or retired professional.  If you are interested in joining the ADDF as a volunteer, please send your resume and cover letter to hr@alzdiscovery.org.

Internships

The ADDF internship program provides college students with hands on experience in anon-profit setting.  Hours are flexible, though candidates who can commit to working a minimum of 6 hours per week are preferred. As a small organization, students will be exposed to wide spectrum of experiences, including:  event/conference planning, proposal writing, marketing communications and prospect research.  This is an unpaid position, but candidates may receive credit by prior arrangement with their college/university.

Development Intern

The ADDF offers an exciting opportunity for those interested in non-profit development and special events planning.   The Development Intern will have the opportunity to sit in on Development team meetings and gain exposure to the inner-workings of non-profit development. The Development Intern will also assist with administrative preparation for fundraising events and board meetings.

Institutional Partnerships Intern

The Institutional Partnerships Intern will have the unique opportunity to work with both the ADDF’s scientific and development team.  The Institutional Partnerships Intern will assist with sponsor and exhibitor prospect research and proposal writing for our scientific conferences.  This intern will also have the opportunity to sit in on development team meetings and assist with other administrative tasks in preparation of our conferences.

The Grants Intern position offers the opportunity to work closely with the ADDF’s scientific team to gain invaluable experience in non-profit administration and grantmaking. The Grants Intern will assist with the administrative functions of the grant s department, including but not limited to:  preparation of meeting materials, correspondence filing, online research, and entering grants data into a centralized database.
