ISOA Board Member Dr. Allan Green, based in Cambridge, MA, joined with Dr. Howard Fillit in a discussion about Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery and Venture Philanthropy at a luxurious private home. 24 guests enjoyed mingling, hearty hors d’oeuvres, and a specialty cocktail called the “Fountain of Youth,” a blueberry mint sparkler. Dr. Fillit spoke about the mission of the ADDF and how we stand at the forefront of the drug pipeline, and Dr. Green spoke about the vital role of Venture Philanthropy in drug discovery. Everyone enjoyed a question and answer session regarding the economics of AD drug discovery.

Scientific Update

Plaza Hotel, NYC, July 28, 2009
Donors, Venture Fund shareholders, ADDF board members, and members of the scientific press all joined Dr. Fillit for a Scientific Update on Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery at the newly renovated Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue in NYC. 64 guests enjoyed wine, cheese, and mingling before Dr. Fillit gave a substantive overview of the AD landscape, new discoveries in the field, and the current pipeline for drugs. He highlighted ADDF’s contributions to the pipeline, and ended the program with a thorough question and answer session.

Guest Lecture

Westport, CT, March 24, 2009
A group of 200 local seniors of the Westport, CT area welcomed Dr. Fillit as a keynote speaker for their esteemed group of retired professionals from business, medicine, law, etc. Guests were fascinated by Dr. Fillit’s explanation of the drug discovery process, including details about the pharmacologists, the “wizards of medicinal chemistry,” and how ADDF supports these brilliant minds to help cure this horrible disease that affects so many. The ADDF thanks the Westport Y’s Men for their generosity and interest in our mission.
