Director for Major Gifts

Vina Orden joined the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation in December 2011. She is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, strategic fundraising plan to meet the ADDF’s grantmaking goals, and she works closely with ADDF Board members, major donors and scientific researchers to promote the organization’s national and international visibility.

Prior to joining the ADDF, Ms. Orden worked for five years at The New York Public Library, most recently as the Assistant Director of Individual Giving. At NYPL, she oversaw fundraising for the President’s Council – a group of the Library’s most generous donors, contributing $25,000 or more annually in general operating support – and secured major gifts for their $1.2 billion campaign. She also worked at the American Museum of Natural History for three years, securing planned gifts (including bequests, charitable trusts, and charitable gift annuities).

Before her career in fundraising, Ms. Orden worked in marketing at the publishing house, Simon & Schuster. In her free time, she mentors teens at Grand Street Settlement’s J.U.M.P. program and has also been a volunteer tutor at Literacy Partners.

Ms. Orden received a Bachelor of Science in communication studies with the distinction of magna cum laude from New York University.
