Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Database Manager will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the ADDF's donor and prospect database (Raiser's Edge). Working cross-functionally, s/he will perform data input, maintenance, cleansing, reporting and analysis, as well as guide and manage data systems protocols. The position plays a key role in helping to inform and assess fundraising strategy.


  • Database administration and maintenance including designing and implementing protocols, tracking and reporting revenue and donor/prospect activity, and provide end-user training and support
  • Create data analyses and reports for Development and Finance teams and senior leadership to track progress against goals and identify significant trends (e.g. average gift, donor churn, corporate partner revenue results by industry, affinity group giving, etc.)
  • Process daily gifts
  • Generate mailing lists as needed
  • Work with Finance to conduct weekly and monthly gift reconciliations
  • Collaborate with Development and Finance teams to set, update, and reconcile annual revenue projections based on trend analysis, guidance from senior leadership and input from front-line fundraisers
  • Create reports and dashboards to help staff and executive leadership manage their portfolios and track progress against revenue and activity goals
  • Process NCOA updates
  • Coordinate and plan for future data conversions/upgrades as needed
  • Coordinate with Blackbaud as needed to update and troubleshoot Raiser's Edge
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • 5-7 years' experience in managing a complex database
  • Advanced working knowledge of Raiser's Edge
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices
  • Comfort with engaging with donors and organizational leadership
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Aptitude for management and effective use of information systems in support of a development program
  • Initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member
