Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation to Present Palm Beach Symposium with Leading Scientist on Breakthrough Biomarkers in Alzheimer’s Disease
Palm Beach, FL — March 9, 2026 – The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) will present a scientific symposium, “Advancing Biomarkers & Facilitating Alzheimer’s Breakthroughs,” featuring leading biomarker expert Danielle Graham, PhD, Head of Biomarkers and Systems Biology at Biogen. The event will be held on Monday, March 30, at 3pm at The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach.
The symposium is part of the ADDF’s Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Today series, presented in partnership with Palm Beach residents Heidi and Tom McWilliams, and will explore how novel biomarkers are transforming Alzheimer’s research. By enabling earlier diagnosis and more precise patient selection for clinical trials, biomarkers play a critical role in accelerating the development of effective therapies. They will also be key to enabling precision treatments tailored specifically for each patient – the same approach that has proven successful in cancer treatment.
Dr. Graham will share insights from the front lines of biomarker innovation, including advances in blood-based and imaging biomarkers that are reshaping how researchers detect, treat, and monitor disease progression.
In her role at Biogen, Dr. Graham leads efforts to identify, develop, implement, and interpret fluid and imaging biomarkers across the company’s clinical pipeline. Her team has played a key role in advancing blood plasma biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, particularly in improving patient screening for clinical trials and enabling more precise treatment monitoring.
“Biomarkers have revolutionized Alzheimer’s research, allowing scientists to detect and measure the disease with unprecedented precision,” said Howard Fillit, MD, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of the ADDF. “Through initiatives like the Diagnostics Accelerator and by convening leaders like Dr. Graham, the ADDF is advancing cutting-edge tools that are redefining clinical trial enrollment and shortening the path to new treatment options for patients. Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Today allows us to share this science with our supporters firsthand.”
Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Today features world-class scientists discussing the path toward new, cutting-edge treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. Now in its fifth season, this lecture series invites three top investigators to share the latest breaking updates on their research. Founded in 1998 by Leonard A. and Ronald S. Lauder, the ADDF is dedicated to rapidly accelerating the development of novel therapeutics and biomarkers to prevent, treat, and cure Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
