ADDF to be Featured in Upcoming Episode of Innovations with Ed Begley Jr.
The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) announced today that it will be featured in an upcoming episode of Innovations with Ed Begley Jr., airing via Discovery Channel later this year. Dates and show times TBA.
The ADDF provides critical seed funding to leading scientists conducting breakthrough drug discovery and clinical research. In this segment, viewers will learn how by accelerating promising drug candidates through the drug development pipeline and spearheading innovative public-private partnerships, the ADDF increases the chance of finding an effective treatment, and a cure, for Alzheimer’s disease.
“We are excited by the opportunity to be a part of Innovations with Ed Begley Jr.” said Howard Fillit, MD, Founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer for the ADDF. “The ADDF has been a pioneer in funding diverse and novel targets for drug discovery for Alzheimer’s disease. Today, several drugs that we supported through the risky phases of early development are in clinical trials. We look forward to sharing these promising advances that are bringing us closer to effective treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.”
“The ADDF employs a venture philanthropy model to proactively source drug discovery projects in both academia and industry, strategically targeting under-funded areas through an iterative and flexible funding process,” said Michele Nehls, Producer for the Innovations series. “We look forward to educating audiences on the amazing strides they’re making in the medical community.”
